Dr. Jeffrey Ditzell opened this private practice with the goal of providing his patients an extra level of care and compassion. He is aware that every patient is different and manages treatment with that in mind; he works to get to know his patients and find the best treatment approach for each specific condition and situation. Dr. Ditzell’s goal is to help get you better – to help get you through whatever turmoil you’re facing, to help you lead a life of fulfillment and happiness. People suffering with mental illnesses, addictions, and emotional distress need a doctor who is capable and can offer a quick response, and Dr. Ditzell does just that. He has business hours every day by appointment, with flexible weekend and evening hours to accommodate patients’ work schedules. Dr. Jeffrey Ditzell is an Adult ADHD Psychiatrist in New York City.

Dr. Ditzell enjoys practice as a General Adult Psychiatrist working in Private Practice in New York City. Dr. Ditzell’s depth and breadth of clinical experience is unique, having served as the Chief of an inpatient Dual Diagnosis Unit, as the lead attending in two Psychiatric ER’s, and as the Lead Physician of an Assisted Community Treatment team.

Additionally, Dr. Ditzell has been committed to the Service of Soldiers in the United States Army for over 20 years, having attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Lieutenant Colonel Ditzell has served with distinction and has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, having served as the Division Psychiatrist in Tikrit, Iraq during deployment in 2005. Dr. Ditzell has had the additional honor of serving as Medical Officer for a Community-Based Warrior Transition Unit at Rock Island Arsenal, assisting soldiers and their families making the often-times difficult transition from overseas deployment to home.

Dr. Ditzell has completed Fellowships in Addiction Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Public Psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from The Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.


Dr. Pablo Sanchez-Barranco is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certified psychiatrist; He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Seville, Spain. Dr. Sanchez-Barranco completed his General Psychiatry Residency at New York University School of Medicine (2004), where he also graduated from the Addiction Psychiatry and Public Psychiatry Fellowships (2007).

Dr. Sanchez-Barranco has been an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at New York University Medical School and, is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. He has earned numerous civilian and military recognitions, including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship and Best Primary Care Manager (physician) for the U.S. Army Northern Region Medical Command.

Dr. Sanchez-Barranco is a commissioned officer with the U.S. Army Medical Corps and a combat veteran with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has served as a combat psychiatrist during Operation Enduring Freedom (2012/13) and, more recently, in Operations Freedom’s Sentinel and Inherent Resolve (2018/19) as the Chief Behavioral Health Officer-Psychiatrist for the U.S. Army Central Command (Forward) under Task Force 8th Medical. He is the recipient of numerous awards, such as the Army Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal with Combat Device, and the Combat Action Badge. His experience in the Armed Forces provides him with a unique vantage point to understand and address trauma-related disorders like Post Traumatic Stress and Acute Stress disorders.

Dr. Sanchez-Barranco’s clinical interests also include Adult Attention-Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety disorders, Depressive and Bipolar illnesses, as well as substance-related disorders. He holds an additional license to prescribe Buprenorphine for office-based treatment of opioid addiction and has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.


Melanie Reid is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working with adults to help them overcome personal struggles and create a path forward. She specializes in treating PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Melanie is skilled in various types of therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT). Melanie knows that when it comes to therapy, one size does not fit all, and she approaches her clients with that in mind. Because she is skilled in various therapeutic techniques, she is able to evaluate the best course of action depending on each clients’ needs.

Melanie began her therapy career working with youth in the foster care system, where she was able to connect with and help clients that didn’t have a lot of support. This role helped shape her current approach to therapy and has proven helpful in her work in private practice.

Melanie earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York, and is licensed in New York State.


Lauren Rosenblum is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working as a psychotherapist with an integrative approach utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities. Lauren believes that a trusting therapeutic alliance is the key to successful treatment outcomes. That ongoing and evolving alliance provides the groundwork for creating individualized treatment plans for a wide variety of patient concerns.

Lauren received her initial training from Smith College Graduate Program for Clinical Social Work, specializing in psychodynamic therapy. Through additional training in trauma-focused interventions and comorbid psychiatric conditions, her interventions expanded to include other evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing principles. Lauren received a postgraduate certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Boston University, offering structured CBT therapy and targeted interventions for anxiety and depression. Her current areas of interest include anxiety, emerging adulthood, affective disorders, addiction, and trauma.

In addition to working in outpatient settings, Lauren also has extensive experience working in psychiatric emergency and inpatient services. She is currently employed part-time at the Haven, an inpatient psychiatric unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She previously spent several years at the Montefiore Medical Center psychiatric emergency department. Her experience working with acute psychiatric conditions has influenced her outpatient treatment and given her a unique comfort in helping adults and families navigate psychiatric issues of a very wide range of acuity.



As our Patient Care Coordinator, Savitri is the frontline of Jeff Ditzell Psychiatry. Her warm demeanor and empathetic nature make for a pleasant patient experience. Savitri previously worked in HR at a large mental health facility and has found her transition to private practice enjoyable. She likes being able to connect with the patients and have a positive impact on their experience.

Eileen Power, Director of Practice Operations

Eileen has worked alongside Dr. Ditzell for several years, with the shared goal of creating a practice that addresses the real needs of patients. She provides that extra level of compassion that enables patients to feel comfortable and at ease. In her role as the Director of Practice Operations, Eileen gets to combine her love of business with her passion for working with people to create a healthier, happier life. She is inspired by the progress she has seen patients make and is thrilled to play a role in their treatment.

Eileen holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, and completed her undergraduate studies in Kinesiology. Eileen has always believed in a strong correlation between mental and physical health; in combining her studies within these two fields she hopes to create a practice that can treat people on multiple levels. Eileen enjoys working with people who are feeling stuck and need help finding direction, as well as people who struggle with anxiety and depression.

In her spare time, Eileen practices what she preaches! She loves to hike with her dog, travel, and is an avid runner, having completed numerous marathons. Knowing that her mental wellbeing is dependent on her physical activity level, she makes sure to stay active.

The meaning of our namesake, Jeff Ditzell Psychiatry, is multifaceted. One: we work with our patients with a shared purpose of getting that patient better; our number one goal is to meet our patients where they are and work with them to get where they want to be. And two: our team is a group of people who have a shared vision of what mental health care should be and we are on a mission to get it there.
