We have 30 years of experience and many awards for psychiatry, therapy, and mental health coaching.
“Our coaching program was developed to optimize our clients’ lives – both personally and professionally.”
A coach is defined as someone who instructs or trains an individual or a team. A great coach is someone who mentors and connects with their trainee, sees strengths and weaknesses, and helps develop the trainee. A life coach can help you with various personal and professional projects, can help you understand various perspectives, and strategize the best way to the goal. The best athletes would not be where they are, would not have harnessed their skills, without having incredible coaches showing them where they could improve. Having a coach can be the difference between being good and being great. When we take a look at the top people in their field, almost all of them have a coach helping them with continuous improvement. If you have ever felt stuck, or you’ve lost direction, or perhaps you know what you want but are having difficulties manifesting a way to achieve your goals, you can benefit from a life coach in New York.
A therapist helps clients deal with some sort of problem, typically a mental health or emotional issue. A therapist can help clients understand things that have happened, recognize unhealthy patterns, and develop healthier behaviors moving forward. A life coach helps clients overcome struggles and optimize the way they function in the world. A coach will help propel a client forward, moving toward more tangible goals.

There are many reasons people do not seek treatment for their symptoms, ranging from their denial of a problem to guilt and shame to not knowing how/when to seek help. Many times a person will put themselves in treatment when they accept they have an issue and are ready to get help, but often times it happens through family and friends intervening. If you are concerned for yourself or someone you know, it is ok to reach out for help.
We use the power of mental, physical, and dietary health to help our clients optimize their lives. After working with us you will have experienced self-discovery, learned effective leadership skills, and enhanced your strategic thinking. We will help you figure out the roadblocks to your success and then ways to overcome them. We align your professional aspirations with your personal skills, interests, and values. We tap into the part of you that has been trying to break through to free yourself to become the best version of you. Utilizing our techniques, you will find the energy you’ve been lacking, the skills you’ve been searching for, and the life you’ve been dreaming of.
Your first step is to call us to schedule your initial appointment.
Your initial evaluation session provides an opportunity for you to build rapport with the coach and provide them with some background about yourselves and the reasons you are seeking life optimization coaching. In addition, one of our team members at Dr. Ditzell Psychiatry will be able to answer your questions regarding services, confidentiality, and what to expect in your coaching sessions. With your best interests in mind, we will decide together what kind of treatment will benefit you the most.
At the end of your first session, if you decide to move forward and work with the life coach, you will be asked to schedule further appointments. At your second appointment, you will work with your mental health coach to set goals for your overall mental health experience and then begin working together towards achieving them.

We see a lot of patients that come in for therapy, learn better coping mechanisms and begin to feel better, then transition to more of a coaching relationship. We are fortunate to have providers that are capable and have the skill sets to offer both life coaching and therapy. In fact, it can be very beneficial to utilize therapeutic skills in a coaching session. Give us a call; we can answer any questions and set you up with a life coaching consultation.
At Dr. Ditzell Psychiatry our patients have and always will be our number one priority; we take their health and well being very seriously and are pleased to be able to offer life optimization coaching in a manner like no other practice we’ve come across.
